Greater Norwich at MIPIM UK 2016
International developers were presented with some great opportunities for investment in the East at the UK’s largest property showcase in October 2016.
Representatives from local authorities, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and business leaders from across Norfolk and Suffolk attended MIPIM UK 2016, the UK’s largest property exhibition and conference, to showcase a range of investment opportunities across the two counties.
Mark Pendlington, chairman of New Anglia LEP, said: “Our two counties play a key role in the UK’s economy and across the globe.
“The East is already one of the best places in the world to live, work, learn and do business. We are uniquely placed at the forefront of future investment opportunities, through industry sector expertise, a skilled workforce and innovative business leaders and with fast connectivity. We are creating an environment where business can thrive.”
Cllr Cliff Jordan, Leader of Norfolk County Council, said “MIPIM is one of the most prestigious investment exhibitions in the country and is a fantastic opportunity to sell what Norfolk has to offer and support potential development sites to come forward. We have worked in partnership with district and borough colleagues and have been overwhelmed by the level of support from local businesses who are all keen to promote the investment potential of the area to the rest of the world.
“Norfolk is a real hotbed of collaborative creative and digital businesses, technology companies and research and development institutes and we were able to present our outstanding offer to the MIPIM UK marketplace.”
“We were able to showcase some great investment opportunities in Greater Norwich, demonstrating that we are open for business and open for growth. Greater Norwich has huge potential to drive the overall UK economy forward and we have shown in the past that we can successfully deliver major transformational projects. We were proud to present our portfolio of current locations to the international marketplace at MIPIM UK” said Cllr Andrew Proctor, Leader of Broadland District Council and vice-chairman of the Greater Norwich Growth Board.
